Students Transferring

If your child(ren) will be attending another school instead of Bowie High School (this does not include graduates) for the 2008-2009 school year, please notify Jana Kuhar, Data Processing Office at mailto:jkuhar@ austinisd. org or call 414-7314.    We are in the process of staffing and completing schedules for the coming school year and would like all of our current students be accounted.

Summer FYI'S

Please be sure that students are working on summer assignments for their various Pre-AP and AP classes.  Assignments should be posted at the Bowie website prior to June 15th.

June 11 is the absolute deadline for Bowie data processing to receive schedule change requests due to "change of mind".  Other deadlines and information on course selection for next year can be found at this link and scroll down to page 3 - http://www.jbhs.org/counselor_website/CounselorsCornerJanuary2 008.pdf.

summer camps

We are currently compiling a list of summer camps!  See our new Summer Camps page.  More camps will be added soon!

summer volunteer opportunity

The Austin based loveisrespect, National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline - Is currently enrolling area high school students in our Summer 2008 Volunteer Advocate program.

This is a nationally recognized (2008 Webby Award Winner for Activism) nonprofit organization. The Helpline volunteer advocate program could be a great way for your high school to meet the requirements of recently passed Texas legislation, HB 121. We'd love to be a partner in the community!  Once trained, students can commit to a minimum of 8 hours per month of volunteer time.  It's a great opportunity to not only gain job experience, but also a great way to enable them to make better decisions about their relationships.  If you'd like to come by for a tour or need more information on our training curriculum, please let me know.  Thank you for your consideration!
