Bowie Blast - Week of Jan 30

Guitar:

The Guitar students participated in the Region 18 UIL Solo and Small Ensemble competition. Congratulations to 20 Bowie students who received Superior Rating for their Solo's (6 advancing to State). The Bowie Quartet also received a Superior Rating for their performance and will be advancing to State UIL! Congratulations to the following students for their performance at the Lamar High School Virtual tournament this past weekend.

2nd place in Duo Interpretation- Zoe Bouck and Javier Lozano

2nd place in Dramatic Interpretation- Zoe Bouck

3rd place in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking- Cristian Abarca

6th place in Duo Interpretation- Jadon Demetri and Gabe Watts​

Dispatch:

The Dispatch earned its 4th straight Distinguished Site award from School Newspapers Online for our efforts with the digital version of the newspaper. We are the 13th school in the country, and the 5th in Texas, this year to earn this recognition for the website and we are the only Central Texas school to earn the recognition so far. Multiple students contributed to the effort, but Editors-in-Chief Izzy Rejino and Natalie Cullen deserve a little extra recognition as the guiding student leaders behind the publication.
